Lab Coat Laundering

Lab coats worn within BI laboratories must not leave the facility, unless decontaminated. Speak to a BI staff member about coat decontamination requirements if you would like to remove your lab coat from BI laboratories.

Lab coats are not laundered by BI staff. On-campus lab coat laundering is available through the Hospital’s Linen Service. Lab coats must be decontaminated prior to laundering. More information can be found here.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

The Biointerfaces Institute at McMaster University is a state-of-the-art facility designed to use high-throughput methods to provide a new understanding of the nature of the biological/material interface, or biointerface.

The overarching goal of the Institute is to understand how biological systems respond to the introduction of synthetic materials, and conversely, how an engineered interface responds to, or is compatible with, a biological system.
